President Bush to visit Aceh

President Bush is said to come to Aceh on Saturday (12/2) for a 4-hour visit. After the unwelcomed reaction from Muslim communities throughout the country, President Bush itinerary plan seems not to be publicized.

While there is no official release from both Governments, the visit will be related with evaluation of the projects financed through donation from the USAID, Peace Agreement implementation and other issues.

While many stakeholders are questioning the sustainability of commitment made to help reconstruction efforts in Aceh, it might be useful if the visit -if exists- contributes in thorough evaluation on currently postponed projects, such as vital road access of Banda Aceh-Meulaboh, education and economic recovery.
